Kit includes a 17.5” diameter weight plate mold with 1 oz fiberglass reinforcement and two 3” long galvanized steel sleeves, roughed for concrete binding (2” in diameter for an Olympic bar).
Sized to create an Olympic diameter concrete plate weighing between 45 and 120lbs*. Add a steel sleeve to the collar index and pour concrete with fiber reinforcement to your desired weight and let cure**. Remove weight, wipe out the mold and repeat. Mold is not marked with nominal weights so you can place your own numbers for each made plate in LBs and KGs.
*For heavier plates above 55lbs, consider adding our 6" Metal Sleeves Refill Kit (sold separately). While 45-120lb plates can be attained with concrete only, you can also add steel in the plate to increase weight to ~200lbs.
**CURING: Concrete takes 24-48 hours to set. For optimal results, de-mold after this time and continue letting your plate cure. Most concrete mixes reach 70% of specified compressive strength after 7 days and full strength at 28 days.
